Teeth Whitening Guide
Everything you need to know before your teeth whitening appointment at Enchanted Smiles. Learn how to prepare, what results you can expect, and see real client transformations.

After Your Appointment
Stick to water only for the first two hours after your appointment to protect your results.
Avoid highly pigmented foods and drinks for the next 24 hours. If it can stain a white shirt, it can stain your teeth. This includes coffee, tea, red sauce, soy sauce, chocolate, red wine, and berries.
Follow a “white diet” for 24 hours with foods such as chicken, rice, cauliflower, bananas, and plain yogurt.
Avoid smoking or vaping for at least 24 hours.
Continue to drink water to stay hydrated and reduce sensitivity.
Maintain results with good oral hygiene and schedule touch-up appointments as needed.
Before Your Appointment
Brush and floss before your appointment to remove surface debris.
Eat a good meal before your visit, as you will not be able to eat for two hours after your session.
Drink plenty of water beforehand to stay hydrated.

Teeth Whitening Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most clients experience little to no discomfort. For those with sensitivity, we customize each treatment to keep it as comfortable as possible.
-
It depends on your daily staining habits and your maintenance routine. We offer touch-ups at six weeks, three months, and six months.
-
No. When performed correctly by a trained professional, it does not damage enamel.
-
Yes. Restorations like crowns, veneers, and fillings can only be whitened back to their original shade. While we cannot make them lighter than the color they were placed with, surface stains can still be removed for a fresher look.
-
Professional whitening products are stronger and penetrate deeper into the pores for more effective results.
-
Maintain results with at-home care such as whitening mouthwash, whitening toothpaste, and on-the-go whitening pens. Rinse after consuming dark foods or drinks and schedule regular touch-ups.
-
Not all stains respond the same way to whitening treatments.
• Extrinsic stains (from coffee, wine, soda, tobacco, etc.) usually respond very well to professional whitening, often showing noticeable results after just one session.
• Intrinsic stains (caused by aging, trauma, medications, or fluoride) can be more stubborn. While whitening can still improve their appearance, it may require multiple sessions or a customized approach for optimal results.
At Enchanted Smiles, we customize every treatment based on the type and severity of staining to give you the safest, most effective results.
